After a death in the family, Cassandra Davies, 40, needed holiday presents for four bereaved children.

She piled her daughter, nieces and nephews into two cars last night and drove two hours from Salem to pick out gifts at HomePlate Youth Services' holiday store at Merlo Station Community High School in Beaverton.
