MORE INFORMATION

HomePlate’s Sit-n-Stay is a weekly dog-sitting service for Saturday Beaverton Farmers Market customers that provides a supportive employment opportunity for young people who face housing instability. Sit-n-Stay services are staffed by HomePlate youth and a supervisor from 7:30am until 2:00pm on Saturdays during the summer at the Beaverton Farmers Market. Dog owners will check in with HomePlate youth staff members and then secure their dogs in the designated leash-up area on the fountain side of the Market. Each dog will have a designated tree and grassy area, cover from rain, a dog dish with water, treats, supervision and security while their owners shop at the Market. The cost of the service is only $5.00 per half hour.

Please visit HomePlate’s Youth Employment Program (YEP) for information about what we are doing to help young people gain professional skills and find jobs. Local businesses who may be interested in partnering with HomePlate’s YEP by providing support, volunteering, or offering employment opportunities for youth from the program should contact our Employment Coordinator, Peter, at peter@homeplateyouth.org  or (971) 400-0551.
