Other Ways to Give.

  • Donor Advised Funds (DAF)

Many of our donors give out of their Donor Advised Funds (DAF). It can be an easy and flexible way to manage your giving and meet your charitable goals. If you would like information on how other people are using them, please contact Laura at laura@homeplateyouth.org.

When you make a DAF gift, it is possible that the sponsoring org will not share your info with us. Please send us a note to donations@homeplateyouth.org when you’ve made a gift so we can be sure to thank you & make certain your gift goes where it is intended to go.

  • Gifts of Stock or Mutual Fund Shares

Donating gifts of stock or mutual fund shares can be a tax-savvy way to maximize your impact. When you give stock instead of selling a stock to give cash, you can save money, give more at no additional cost, and make a larger impact on HomePlate.

Many of our supporters choose to donate gifts of stock, especially as an extra end-of year contribution. It can be a great way to maximize your tax savings and meet your charitable goals this year.

For information on how to donate stock, please contact Laura at laura@homeplateyouth.org, or call her at 971-322-9381.

  • Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

Also known as IRA Charitable Rollovers, QCDs can reduce your taxable income and allow you to meet your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) if you are eligible. To make a gift from your IRA, you must be 70.5 years or older and give from a traditional IRA (401Ks are not eligible). These gifts do not count as itemized deductions; rather, they are deducted from your overall taxable income.

Please contact your IRA administrator to request a charitable distribution transfer funds to HomePlate. Instruct them to include your name on the check and a note that the QCD is designated for the current tax year. Please send these gifts to HomePlate Youth Services, PO Box 1413, Beaverton, OR 97075.

  • Create a Legacy

Make a gift in your will that will provide lasting support for our youth.

Bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts are four common ways to make a planned gift.

You can designate a specific amount, a percentage of your total estate, or a share of the residue after gifts to your heirs.

Bequests are accessible to everyone, and it doesn’t affect your budget now. You decide how your gift is used, and can secure tax benefits for yourself and your heirs. Create a legacy for you or your family that will have a lasting impact.

If you would like more information on how to make a planned gift, please contact .Laura at laura@homeplateyouth.org, or call her at 971-322-9381.

  • Workplace Giving & Employer Matching

Many employers have payroll deduction programs and will match employee giving. Ask your employer if they have a workplace giving program. You can double or even triple your impact!
